These decadent fudgey squares are what dreams are made of. Developed by Kim Capella over at The Coconut Diaries, the gluten-free brownies also happen to be vegan, low in sugar, and only 133 calories per serving. But, honestly, all we care about is the chocolate.
The ooey-gooey texture you see here is achieved by using coconut oil and unsweetened apple sauce. If you want an extra chocolate drizzle on top (as pictured), Capella recommends finishing them off with chocolate brownie coconut butter by Sweet Spreads.
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 1/2 cup almond meal
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup baking stevia
- 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 cup almond milk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Directions
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Coat a 9- by 4-inch baking pan with nonstick spray and spread mixture evenly into pan.
Bake in the oven for 22 to 27 minutes, or until the top crisps. Cut into eight pieces and enjoy!
