Extended Hand Big Toe Pose, or “Utthita Hasta Padangustasana,” is a classic pose found in almost all modern styles of yoga. Though the posture is considered fundamental in some circles, this pose is very difficult for most people, because of tight hips, hamstrings, and shoulders. Not only does this pose call upon strength and flexibility, but also a tremendous amount of focus. This sequence utilizes isometric movements, yogi toe-lock and supporting postures that allow the student to work safely and happily toward a beautifully aligned and supported pose.
